How is Sempli different from Canvas?
Canvas is the school’s learning-management system. Sempli is your personal semester layer: syllabi, deadlines, study material, workload planning, AI help, and Google Calendar in one student-owned workspace.
Can Sempli create a class from a syllabus?
Yes. Leave “Let Sempli detect & create the class” selected and Sempli will match an existing class or create it before you review deadlines.
Does Sempli automatically trust every AI date?
No. Imports are review-first. Confidence, tentative dates, source wording, and possible duplicates are shown before saving.
What can Ask Sempli use?
Your saved classes, deadlines, syllabus information, relevant private syllabi, and relevant Study Hub files.
What happens when I connect Google Calendar?
Sempli creates its own Google calendar named “Sempli” and manages deadlines there without managing your other calendars.
What if a professor changes a date?
Edit it in Sempli and Google Calendar follows. Dates the syllabus labels tentative are also marked for verification.
Are uploaded files public?
No. Syllabi and Study Hub files are stored privately and accessed through short-lived signed links.
How does billing work?
Stripe handles Checkout, cards, and subscription management. Sempli never stores raw card numbers.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes after Google is enabled in Sempli’s Supabase Auth settings. Email/password still works too.
Can Sempli connect to Canvas?
It is on the roadmap. Canvas has APIs, but broad access requires school or Instructure authorization.
