Privacy Policy

How Sempli collects, uses, and protects information when you use our student planning, study, and career tools.

Effective: October 13, 2026

1. Information we collect

Sempli may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, account details, class information, assignments, course materials, syllabi, grades and gradebook information you choose to track, career preferences, resumes, transcripts, and other content you submit when using Sempli features.

We may also collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as browser or device information, authentication events, and service logs.

2. Connected accounts and sign-in providers

If you choose to sign in with or connect a third-party service such as Google or LinkedIn, Sempli may receive information that service permits you to share, such as your name, email address, profile image, or basic profile information. Sempli only requests access needed for the feature you choose to use.

If you connect Google Calendar, Sempli may use the permissions you authorize to support calendar-sync features. You can revoke third-party access through the applicable provider.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve Sempli, including to organize coursework, surface deadlines, track grades you choose to enter or import, generate academic priorities and Semester Health signals, answer questions about uploaded academic material, provide study tools, personalize career features, maintain accounts, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and support users.

4. AI features

Some Sempli features use artificial intelligence to analyze information you choose to provide, such as syllabi, course materials, assignments, grades, career evidence, and prompts. Information may be sent to service providers that power these features only as needed to generate the requested result.

AI-generated output can be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before relying on it for academic, career, or other important decisions.

5. Service providers

Sempli may use third-party providers to operate parts of the service, including cloud hosting, authentication, databases, file storage, AI processing, payments, calendar integrations, sign-in integrations, and career-data services. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices as well as the permissions Sempli grants them.

Examples may include Supabase, OpenAI, Stripe, Google, LinkedIn, Vercel, and O*NET Web Services, depending on the features you use.

6. Payments

Subscription payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Sempli does not directly store complete payment-card numbers. Payment providers may collect billing and payment information under their own privacy policies.

7. How we share information

Sempli does not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers when necessary to operate Sempli, comply with law, protect users or the service, or complete a transaction you request.

8. Data retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and records, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Users may request deletion of their Sempli account and associated personal information by emailing semplisupport@gmail.com. Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their account credentials and avoid sharing passwords.

10. Your choices

You may choose not to provide optional information or connect optional third-party services. You may also disconnect supported integrations through the applicable provider or Sempli settings where available.

11. Children's privacy

Sempli is designed for college and higher-education users and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Sempli changes. When we make material updates, we will revise the effective date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
